Title of Thesis: EUCHARISTIC SACRIFICE AS MISSIONARY GIFT IN MISSION-SHAPED CHURCH.
Following the PCC Meeting of 31st May 2022 it was agreed to reinstate the anointing with oils, and the offering of holy communion in both kinds i.e. both bread and wine. This is in complete agreement with the advice given by the Church of England who say that, "unless there are clear and objective reasons not to, Holy Communion should now be offered in both kinds to communicants." Hence, holy communion will be offered in both from Sunday 19th June's 10am Family Mass (serendipitously, the Feast of Corpus Christi!) However, given the unavailability of the sacrament in its fullest form over the past two years, and on-going concerns please click on this link to read how we plan to begin this return to ‘normality’. As your priest and as a PCC we are profoundly aware that there is very understandable nervousness, as well as clinically vulnerable people. Thus, we want encourage people to receive holy communion as they feel most comfortable, confident that receiving in one kind (bread only) is still truly receiving the Eucharist. If you have any questions please do contact me. Fr. Robert
