On Monday £589.22 was banked all raised from the May Fair to go towards the Diocesan Lent Appeal.

The May Fair 2014 was on Saturday 10th May with the doors open from 2pm. The steady stream of attendees were able to enjoy everything from Face Paintin to Cream Teas, from a Magic Workshop done by 'Mr. Cosmo' aka Colin Lomas to stalls galore.

However, one of the great things was the 2nd St Thomas' Big Bake-Off/Little Bake-Off. The 'arduous' task of blind judging the entrants for the under 18s and over 18s categories fell to Fr. Robert, Sarah Chapman and Sue Cunningham. The hugely sacrificial nature of the duty was obvious to all who witnessed the scene. Yet, after painfully tasting over a dozen cakes we confidently crowned Sarah Holroyd the over 18s champion with her fablulous sponge, strawberry and custard cake. The decision of the under 18s was really very difficult becuase the standard was so comparably high. In the end, unable to decide, we anointed two winners, Ned and Skye, with 'pastry shapes' and a 'cake tester'.

A huge thank you goes to Sophie Schuil-Brewer and all her team for organising such great event, and to those who helped on the day.
